The Modani Spa in Netanya redefines eco luxury wellness, merging history, culture, and nature into a restorative escape. With design rooted in the Mediterranean’s fluid palette and Israel’s rich heritage, studio ara curated an experience where architecture and interiors seamlessly embody tranquility, elegance, and integrative rejuvenation.
The client envisioned a spa that transcended conventional hospitality, offering an integrative sanctuary where guests could both rejuvenate and unwind. The challenge lay in balancing luxury with authenticity, crafting spaces that embraced Netanya’s historical context while capturing the serenity of the Mediterranean. With 157 guestrooms, a spa, restaurant, and dedicated wellness areas, the brief demanded a cohesive design language that connected each function while maintaining a sense of intimacy and retreat.
The concept drew inspiration from Netanya’s coastal heritage and the ebb and flow of the sea. A refined palette of beiges, whites, greys, and oceanic blues established harmony and calm, while materials referenced the surrounding landscapes and the tactile warmth of American East Coast panelized, heritage-driven design. Organic shapes, rich textures, and Lasvit-inspired chandeliers in key areas, including the welcoming bar, crafted a balanced narrative of tradition and modernity. The spa and treatment rooms, developed in collaboration with wellness experts from Canyon Ranch (Florida), were designed to offer restorative experiences in an environment that feels intimate yet luxurious. Across guestrooms, wellness zones, and communal spaces, every detail was considered to allow the architecture to dissolve seamlessly into its coastal surroundings.
One of the project’s defining features is the holistic integration of the spa and wellness areas. Studio ara approached these spaces not as stand-alone amenities but as the experiential core of the property. Custom furnishings, curated accessories, and subtle textural layering elevate these interiors beyond utility, ensuring they resonate with a sense of timeless luxury. The spa’s narrative, grounded in both natural landscapes and cultural heritage, became the guiding compass for the entire design journey.
The result is a resort where architecture, interiors, and landscape converge into a unified expression of wellbeing. Sophisticated yet approachable, The Modani offers an atmosphere of refined serenity while celebrating local identity. Every detail has been curated to reflect balance, elegance, and cultural resonance, establishing a destination that feels intimately personal and universally inviting.
