In 1996, Andre Avedian and Harry Gregory founded studio ara with the simple belief that how we create is just as defining as what we create.
Since then, studio ara has established itself as a trusted partner in global hospitality design, creating bespoke interiors that stand the test of time.
Rooted in the stories of the past, yet alive with the pulse of reinvention, our design ethos carries heritage forward, unfolding into a modern, fluid sensibility.
From our regional offices in London, Bali and Shanghai, we have breathed new life into interiors in over 30 countries, reimagining five-star hotels, resort spas, boutique retreats, and private residences.

Client Brief
We start by listening closely to your goals, vision, and requirements. This phase defines the project’s scope, brand values, and context, laying a clear foundation for the entire design journey.
Concept Design
Your ideas take shape through narratives, mood boards, and spatial planning. Here, we establish the project’s identity, atmosphere, and creative direction.
Schematic Design
The concept evolves into layouts, drawings, and renderings that define flow, scale, and spatial organization. We balance functionality with aesthetics, ensuring every space works seamlessly.
Mock-Up Package
Key areas are developed in detail, with drawings, specifications, and material boards that demonstrate the design language. This stage offers a tangible reference for approvals and alignment.
Design Development
Designs are refined into comprehensive packages with technical precision. Materials, details, and finishes are consolidated, ensuring clarity and readiness for coordination with consultants and project teams.
Tender Package
We prepare detailed documentation for clients and stakeholders. Drawings, specifications, and material boards provide the accuracy needed for competitive pricing and smooth execution during construction.
FF&E Documentation
Furniture, fixtures, and equipment are curated and specified to complement the design and meet operational needs. Each selection aligns with the project’s aesthetic, durability, and budget.
Construction Supervision
Our team provides ongoing supervision, on-site and remotely, to ensure the design intention is carried through to completion. From reviewing samples to site inspections, we make sure the final result reflects the approved vision.
