Perched along Eilat’s northern shores, Astral Palma is the singular suite-only hotel in this picturesque stretch. Studio ara’s design concept celebrates the quiet luxury of coastal stillness, using layered, organic textures and soothing earth-and-sea tones to craft spaces that feel refined and intimately connected to their dramatic landscape.
Situated against the stark beauty of Eilat’s desert mountains and crystalline Red Sea, the brief called for interiors that embodied calm and introspection. The challenge was to frame the raw landscape through subtle materiality, hospitality, and design richness, creating a sanctuary of repose. Starting from the site’s unique identity as a remote, upscale refuge, the goal was to evoke placid luxury using oceanic hues, tactile textiles, and sculptural accents that whisper rather than shout, inviting guests into an immersive coastal haven.
The design narrative unfolds through a harmony of texture and tone: oceanic blues blend with earthy ochres, while surfaces, from warm marble and terrazzo to dark oak and bronze, offer multidimensional appeal. Geometric lighting fixtures interplay with ceramic wall art and patterned carpets to create a quiet rhythm, while the furniture palette, laden with soft upholstery, stone-topped servers, and lounge sofas, speaks of refined comfort. Divider screens punctuate space without closing it, and accent tiles ground each zone with understated elegance.
A signature moment in the hotel is the central lounge’s sculptural shelving wall, an architectural focal point that showcases ceramic artistry under precise geometric illumination. This sculpted feature anchors the lobby, drawing the eye and setting the tone for the entire suite experience. Coupled with custom accent cushions and beautifully upholstered sofas in oceanic and earthen shades, the installation infuses the space with a sense of place, melding Eilat’s hues with design that feels curated yet inherently restful.
The interiors of Astral Palma emerge as a serene sanctuary where design complements the environment rather than competes with it. The layered interplay of textural fabrics, organic stone, and metal highlights yields spaces that soothe and invite. Guests move through areas that feel sophisticated, as well as effortless. Whether softly lit lounges or calming pool-view retreats, one becomes immersed in a narrative that gently references the Red Sea’s clarity, the desert’s warmth, and the promise of tranquil escape.
